Vizada Sells GMPCS To Private Investor

[Satellite Today – 3-27-08] Vizada is selling affiliate GMPCS Personal Communications Inc. to a private investor, Vizada announced March 27.
    GMPCS, which has been a part of Vizada since August 2004, is a international distributor of mobile and fixed satellite phone equipment and services using the Inmarsat, Iridium, Globalstar, and Thuraya satellite networks.
    "Vizada is fully committed to selling its services through distributors and channel partners,” Bob Baker, president and COO of Vizada Americas, said in a statement. "For this reason, it made sense to sell GMPCS and focus on our core business strengths and excellent channel relationships.”
    Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
