Butler To Step Down As President Of Inmarsat

[Satellite Today – 3-13-08] Inmarsat President and COO Michael Butler will leave the company at the end of April 2009, the company announced March 13.
    He will remain as executive director of Inmarsat until his departure. No replacement has been named.
    “Over the past eight years, Michael has made a significant contribution to the evolution of Inmarsat from an intergovernmental organization to an industry leading enterprise,” Andrew Sukawaty, Inmarsat’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “Michael will continue with his current responsibilities until April 2009 to oversee a smooth transition to the new commercial contract with our global distribution partners and the successful introduction of Inmarsat’s new Global Satellite Phone Services.”
