[Satellite Today – 3-11-08] The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has announced that it has found ICO Global Communications (Holdings) Ltd.’s application for use of an Ancillary Terrestrial Component to be acceptable for filing, Ico announced March 10.
The notice, which was released March 5, would give ICO blanket authority to operate Ancillary Terrestrial Component (ATC) base stations and dual-mode Mobile Satellite Service (MSS)/ATC mobile terminals in spectrum reserved for provision of 2 GHz MSS in the United States via a Canadian-licensed satellite. The application has now been released for comment until April 18, when the FCC will close comments and begin deliberating for its final decision.
