Raytheon Posts Profitable Quarter, Year

[Satellite Today – 1-31-08] Raytheon Co.’s Space and Airborne Systems division posted a 6 percent increase in net sales, from $1.17 billion in the fourth quarter of 2006 to $1.24 billion in the fourth quarter ending Dec. 31, 2007, the company announced Jan. 31.
    For the year, the division posted a 1 percent drop in net sales, from $4.3 billion in 2006 to $4.2 in 2007. Operating income was also down 7 percent for the year, but the fourth quarter showed an increase of 11 percent, primarily due to higher volume and improved program performance.
    Overall, the company’s net sales rose 8 percent for the quarter and 8 percent for the year, to $21.3 billion. The increase was primarily due to Integrated Defense Systems, Intelligence and Information Systems, Missile Systems and Network Centric Systems performance.
