Streambox Introduces New Encoder

[Satellite Today – 1-24-08] Streambox Inc. has introduced its Mobile Software Encoder, the company announced Jan. 23.
The encoder is designed to extend the newsgathering capabilities of broadcasters, first responders and citizen reporters, helping them to deliver live breaking news and events to the newsroom as well as powering video portals and social networking sites. The encoder transports broadcast video over Wi-Fi and 3G networks for real-time and store-and-forward news coverage.
The Mobile Software Encoder features proprietary compression technologies common to other Streambox video transport solutions, providing video compression, error correction and bandwidth shaping.
