NDS Secures Indian DTH Deal; Reports Revenue Growth

[10-29-07 – Satellite Today] NDS received a contract from Bharti Airtel, one of India’s main cellular operators, to provide services for a digital satellite service in India, NDS announced Oct. 29.
    NDS will provide Bharti Airtel with its VideoGuard solution, MediaHighway middleware as well as a customized electronic program guide. Financial details of the agreement were not released. In its core conditional access business, NDS saw a 31 percent increase in revenues.
    NDS also reported revenues of $204.9 million in its latest quarter, an increase of about 25 percent compared to the same period a year ago. The company also saw net profits increase to more than $46 million up 20 percent compared to last year.
