Star One C1 Delivered To Launch Site

[10-10-07 – Satellite Today] The second satellite for the Ariane 5 mission scheduled for a Nov. 9 launch has been delivered to the Spaceport in French Guiana,        Arianespace announced Oct. 9.

Thales Alenia Space’s Star One C1 spacecraft arrived at Cayenne Rochambeau International Airport aboard an Antonov An-124 cargo airliner, and was transported to the Spaceport’s S1B clean room for its initial check-out.

Star One C1 will provide telecommunications, multimedia and high-speed internet Internet services to South America. The satellite will be launched with the U.K.’s Skynet 5B secure military communications satellite.
