BSAT-3A Begins Operations

[10-02-07 – Satellite Today] The BSat-3A broadcasting satellite is operational following on-orbit deployment and checkout,     Lockheed Martin announced Oct. 1.

The spacecraft, owned by Japan’s Broadcasting Satellite System Corp. (B-Sat), was manufactured by Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems and is based on an A2100 platform.

BSat-3A, located at 110° East, carries 12 Ku-band channels, eight of which operate at a time.
