Russian Schools Get Broadband Internet Access Thanks To Gilat

[09-10-07 – Satellite Today] Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. has been selected to deploy a satellite communications network that will provide unlimited Internet access for Russian schools, the company announced Sept. 10.

Russian satellite service provider Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) is deploying the network, based on Gilat’s SkyEdge IP VSATs. Since the beginning of the year, Gilat has provided approximately 3,000 satellites to schools in the Siberian, Far East and other remote areas of Russia with two-way broadband Internet access.
