[09-06-07 –  Satellite Today] Mainstream Data has teamed up with Portugal Television (PT) and Lusa, Portugal’s national press agency, to distribute news stories and photographs to customers in Europe and Africa, the company announced Sept. 5.

Mainstream will replace its existing satellite distribution system with Medias Server, a proprietary application server that utilizes a combination of satellite and Internet delivery technologies. The server employs automatic failover functionality to switch between satellite and internet feeds and was created specifically to integrate multimedia content delivered over satellite and the Internet, the company said.
