Comtech Wins $6.6 Million Follow-On for Satcom TWTAs

      Comtech Telecommunications announced that during its third quarter of fiscal 2017, a U.S. military integrator awarded its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology, a follow-on contract for more than $6.6 million for high-power satellite communication Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs). This is the third award of a multi-year program for these power amplifiers used in tactical transportable satcom terminals.

      Comtech Xicom manufactures a variety of tube-based and solid-state power amplifiers for military and commercial satellite uplink applications. The product range encompasses power levels from 8 W to 3 kW, with frequency coverage in sub-bands within the 2 GHz to 45 GHz spectrum.
