Ovzon to Supply DoD With 50 Mobile Satellite Terminals

Ovzon has won a new contract worth close to $2 million to supply the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), with satellite terminals, the company announced Oct. 18. Ovzon will provide an unnamed DoD customer with 50 of its new, ultra-small, Ovzon T6 mobile satellite terminals.

This represents the largest single order to date for the Ovzon T6. The terminal weighs less than 13 pounds, and Ovzon said it can be placed into operation within less than a minute and an untrained user can operate it for hours on a common external battery. The company said this terminal is ideal for supporting operational teams and providing the bandwidth to scale into a robust headquarters on one single terminal.

The Swedish-based company has been ramping up its activity with the DoD. Last week, Ovzon announced that it had received a direct order for its satellite communications terminals from a new DoD customer.

“This significant order represents an enterprise-level investment in the Ovzon Satcom-as-a-Service by a customer with a very demanding and important mission. We are humbled to play an increasingly important role with this key customer,” Per Norén, CEO of Ovzon, said in a statement.
