SpeedCast Adds Global Xpress to Government Business

[Via Satellite 08-24-2016] SpeedCast International is expanding its relationship with Inmarsat beyond maritime to also serve government customers with Global Xpress (GX). As a Value Added Reseller (VAR), SpeedCast will sell the high throughput Ka-band offering to its portfolio of services for government customers.

GX entered worldwide commercial service in December 2015. Its government-focused services fuse two global networks, enabling classified networks to be accessed globally through the same terminals on a single subscription.

“As we extend into new government markets and undertake a comprehensive programmer of education to demonstrate the new capabilities of GX, we will benefit greatly from the experience and global footprint that SpeedCast brings in the satellite communications market,” said Andy Start, president of Inmarsat Global Government.
