DESCRIPTION:The Satellite Industry Association and American Astronomical Society Present – Impacts of Satellite Constellation on Optical Astronomy – Webinar \nSIA is pleased to partner with the American Astronomical Society (AAS) for a Webinar on Tuesday\, May 26th at 3:00 pm (ET) titled “Impacts of Satellite Constellations on Optical Astronomy”. \nThe webinar will feature speakers including the President of the AAS\, Megan Donahue\, Patricia Cooper\, Vice President\, Satellite Government Affairs from SIA Member SpaceX as well as Pat Seitzer (MSU) and Tony Tyson (LSST). The speakers will discuss the challenges posed to observatories by satellite constellations\, how best to engage with all parties to find solutions\, and the roles of the observatories and the private-sector in mitigating impacts.
