Dear {{lead.First Name:default=Colleague}}, SES finished drifting AMC-6 to 83 degrees West and loaded up some of the transponders with services that formerly used to be on AMC-9 before AMC-9 failed in mid-June. There won't be full restoration of AMC-9 services as AMC-6 has technical problems that allow just a few transponders to be operated. Currently AMC-6 has Ku-band transmissions with some aeronautical broadband services and one video service, the New York State Media Services Center.
SES' AMC-4 satellite temporarily stopped at 85 degrees West longitude to provide some AMC-9 Ku-band restoration services while AMC-6 was drifting into place at 83 degrees West longitude. With those services moved to AMC-6, AMC-4 continues its westward drift to its new home at 134.9 degrees West longitude.
New York State Media Services Center was initially restored to AMC-15 Ku-band (105 degrees West longitude) at 12,096 MHz horizontal polarity but is back at the 83 degrees West orbital slot, currently on the AMC-6 Ku-band satellite at 11,834 MHz horizontal polarity in DVB-S format with a symbol rate of 3,979.
Discovery Communications removed a digital signal from AMC-10/AMC-7 C-band (135 degrees West longitude). The signal at 4,120 MHz vertical polarity in DVB-S2 format with a symbol rate of 30,000 contained West HD versions of Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, and BBC America.
A new Intelsat digital signal launched on Galaxy 13 C-band (127 degrees West longitude) carrying BBC World News in standard definition. The signal is at 3,900 MHz vertical polarity in DVB-S format with a symbol rate of 27,690. In a Sistema Jalisciense signal on Eutelsat 113 West A C-band (113 degrees West longitude), new radio services were added. In the signal at 3,857 MHz horizontal polarity in DVB-S format with a symbol rate of 2,805, the two audio services are XEJB-FM from Guadalajara and XHVJL-FM from Puerto Vallarta.
Apostolic Oneness Network is gone from a signal at 12,160 MHz horizontal polarity in DVB-S format with a symbol rate of 1,480 on Eutelsat 117 West A Ku-band (116.8 degrees West longitude).
On Eutelsat 117 West A C-band (116.8 degrees West longitude) in a digital signal of Dominican Republic television signals at 3,800 MHz vertical polarity in DVB-S2 format with a symbol rate of 5,224, Telecentro 13 and Digital Vision 63 are gone.
Intelsat-35e was launched on July 5 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral. The C-/Ku-band satellite was manufactured by Boeing for operator Intelsat. It will reside at 325 degrees East and replace the aging Intelsat-903 bird. A Soyuz rocket launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome on July 14 carrying 73 satellites. The payload included cubesats for four constellations. A Long March 5 rocket carrying the Shijian-17 satellite suffered a fatal launch failure on July 2 shortly after take off from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center. This failure was the second incident involving a Chinese rocket in as many weeks. Best, |
