In the run-up to CyberSat, at recent conferences like the Space Defense and Security Summit (SDSS) in Paris and DSEI in London, it is clear that space has become an integral facet of next-generation warfare and conflict. Navy Captain Paul Merveilleux du Vignaux, head of the Operations Division Organization, French Cyber Defence Command (COMCYBER) at SDSS spoke about how the war in cyberspace has already started.

This will be key theme at CyberSat this year, as many top speakers from the U.S. government and commercial satellite industry get together to talk about the evolving threat landscape and how space is becoming a more contested domain than ever.

It seems we have reached a tipping point both in terms of cyber warfare, and the role space plays in that. With space so important in terms of maintaining and running critical infrastructure, it is only natural it will be targeted. CyberSat in its ninth year has seen quite an evolution from on the edges to a more mainstream discussion. This year, with our deepest speaker line-up, it promises to be the most thought-provoking CyberSat ever as we discuss how prepared space companies are for this new front line, and how it can work with governments going forward to secure space assets.
