Last month at CyberSat Exchange, top CISOs detailed increased cyber threats to space companies during the war with Iran. Social engineering attacks including smishing and phishing are of particular concern — and the timeline between vulnerability discovery and exploitation is only shrinking.
The threat is real — U.S. government agencies including the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and National Security Agency (NSA) released a joint alert last week to alert critical infrastructure sectors about threats from Iranian actors on the rise. While space isn’t technically classified as critical infrastructure, space capabilities underpin and enable many CI sectors.
CyberSat Exchange came at a key time, bringing space and cyber professionals together to collaborate amid active developing threats. I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation at CyberSat in November.
