[Via Satellite 04-28-2016] Vector Space Systems, a startup company focusing on launch services for micro satellites, has raised more than $1 million in angel funding at Silicon Valley-based Space 2.0. With an executive team comprised of original SpaceX founders, as well as space industry veterans from Virgin GalacticMcDonnell Douglas and Sea Launch, the company’s goal is to connects space startups with affordable and reliable launch-enabling platforms and vehicles at a lower price point than what is available today.

Vector Space Systems is developing a platform approach to broaden the access of space technology to non-experts. The company’s launch vehicle, currently under development, is designed to launch 25 to 45 kilogram payloads to Low Earth Orbit (LEO), with a first mission scheduled for 2018.
