[Via Satellite 06-12-2014] Eutelsat completed the upgrade of its ground station in Mexico City with Siemens Convergence Creators’ (Siemens CVC) Siecams equipped with Carrier ID and interface localization functionality. This monitoring system upgrade comes just before the 2014 FIFA World Cup is set to begin.

Carrier ID is designed to guarantee immediate identification of a satellite signal’s source through creating unique identification numbers, and also speeds up the process of identifying transmissions that are unauthorized or incorrectly configured. Eutelsat selected the Siecams system to deploy across its fleet due to the system’s ability to detect, classify and localize incidents of interference without needing to manually transfer data to another application.
