Viasat Loses Some DTH Subscribers; Increases Premium DTH, IPTV Numbers

[Satellite Today 04-24-09] Viasat Broadcasting, a Modern Times Group (MTG) subsidiary has 822,000 DTH subscribers, a across the Nordic region at the end of March, a loss of 10,000 customers when compared to the same period in 2009, according to ViaSat’s first quarter 2009 results released April 22.
    At the end of March, Viasat had 760,000 premium DTH subscribers, as well as 62,000 basic DTH subscribers. ViaSat’s results show an increase in premium DTH subscribers over the previous year. ViaSat also reported 94,000 Nordic IPTV subscribers, almost double the figure it had at the same time last year.
    Viasat now has 122,000 subscribers who have ViasatPlus recordable boxes, an increase of 40,000 from 2008.
