By Staff Writer | March 3, 2009

Harris Corp. has been awarded a contract to provide an integrated large-scale broadcast solution to the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) as part of a facility upgrade, Harris announced Mar. 3.
The broadcasting solution from Harris includes automation, servers, core processing, multiviewers, test and measurement, branding and routers. IMN also will use the Harris AutoSat automated satellite program acquisition system, which controls steerable satellite dishes, tunes receivers and enables recording right from Harris’ ADC automation system, providing control of six integrated receivers and decoders simultaneously. Harris and IMN also are building a master satellite feeding room, with the capacity to control 13 professional decoders.
The installation will be handled by Kholoud Telecom and Broadcast System Solutions, a local Harris dealer.
