INVAP to Build First Argentine Satellite

[Satellite News 09-10-08] INVAP and AR-SAT have signed a contract covering phases II to IV of the design and construction of the first Argentine geostationary communications satellite, ARSAT-1, the companies announced.
    The contract reportedly covers the detailed engineering and the construction of the satellite, as well as all actions to be taken to ensure the launching of ARSAT-1 by the end of 2011. AR-SAT said ARSAT-1 will cover telephone and data transmission, internet and TV transmission services to Argentina and the whole southern cone of America.
