SES New Skies Signs GlobeCast Capacity Deal

[Satellite Today 07-07-08] SES New Skies signed a capacity deal with GlobeCast to extend the use of a pair of transponders on the NSS-806 satellite, SES New Skies announced July 7.
    Under the five-year contract, GlobeCast, a subsidiary of France Telecom, continues to use the capacity on the NSS-806 satellite, located at 319.5° East, to provide its services in Latin America as well as Western Europe and much of Eastern Europe
    “Our continued partnership with SES is further evidence of our commitment to providing market leading channel distribution across America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia,” Mary Frost, CEO of GlobeCast North America, said in a statement. “This latest deal will allow our international roster of clients to continue to receive the high quality broadcasting services they require to meet their growing needs.”
    The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
