Globecomm Opens Broadcast Operations Center For Showtime Networks

[8/20/07 – Satellite Today] Globecomm Systems Inc. has opened a broadcast operations center for Showtime Networks Inc., Globecomm announced.

The 6,000-square-foot custom master and control facility at Globecomm’s Long Island International Teleport supports the transmission of 25 standard-definition, 3 high-definition and an analog channel to satellites serving the United States. Globecomm is providing all technical operations supporting content origination, transmission and monitoring required for delivery of Showtime Network’s programming to viewers nationwide. 

“It’s a significant expansion of our business in the broadcast sector,” Keith Hall, Globecomm’s vice president of network services, said in a statement. “The project showcases Globecomm’s ability to design, integrate and operate content management and distribution systems that meet the exacting demands of the broadcast business. We believe that this positions our company in the top tier of content distribution companies serving the media and entertainment sector.”
