Apposite Technologies Announces Gigabit-Speed WAN Emulator

Apposite Technologies Inc. unveiled its Linktropy 7500 and Linktropy 7500 Pro wide-area network emulation appliances, the company announced.

Globalstar Launches Satellite Data And Voice Module

Globalstar USA LLC is shipping its new GSP-1720 satellite data and voice module, the company announced.
The device, manufactured by Qualcomm Inc., is designed to provide integrators, original equipment manufacturers and value-added developers a compact, power-efficient system for two-way satellite communications data applications.
Separately, AeroAstro unveiled a new asset-tracking satellite downlink decoder rack for Globalstar ground stations designed to expand the geographic coverage of the Globalstar Simplex Data Service. The digital signal-processing infrastructure component receives and decodes asset-tracking and monitoring data from field transmitters and transmits the signals via the Internet. (Globalstar; 461 So. Globecomm Introduces Next-Generation Satellite Network Management System

Globecomm Systems Inc. has introduced its next-generation satellite network management system, the company announced.
Dubbed AxxSys Orion, the system monitors and controls terrestrial elements of a satellite communications network, offering the ability to manage other network elements including routers, microwave, fiber and wireless subsystems. The system, deployed over an industry-standard IP network, can be scaled to monitor dozens to thousands of devices, Globecomm said.
In a separate move, Globecomm named Stephen Wilson vice president of its new Globecomm Services Maryland operation. Wilson previously served as vice president of North American regional sales for New Skies Satellite Inc. MacDonald Dettwiler Radarsat-2 Passes NRC Aerospace Test

Radarsat-2 passed an acoustic qualification test conducted by the National Research Council Institute for Aerospace Research, the institute announced.
The test certified that Radarsat-2, built by MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., can withstand the noise environment generated by rocket engines during launch later this year for the Canadian Space Agency.
