      Gilat Satellite Networks Scores Satellite Connectivity Business with Peru State Bank

      Gilat To Home Peru, a subsidiary of Gilat Satellite Networks, has been awarded a three-year contract by Peru’s state bank, Banco de la Nación, to provide satellite connectivity for 320 rural locations, as well as a disaster recovery site in Chiclayo. The deal is worth $9.6 million.

      Gilat will use its SkyEdge 2 platform including WebEnhance VSAT to deliver broadband connectivity to the bank’s branches across Peru.

      Gilat will provide satellite backup to the bank’s data center by deploying a disaster recovery site in Chiclayo, a city to the north of Peru.

      Advantech Wireless Inks Digital TV Contract in Argentina

      Canadian manufacturer of satellite, RF equipment and microwave systems Advantech Wireless has been selected to transport Digital TV for Group Telefe in Argentina.

      Advantech Wireless will supply Transcend 800 Point-to-Point microwave radio equipment and support to transport its Digital TV programs in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The move will replace a fiber optic link that is now used as a back-up communication channel.

      Vitacom, XipLink Optimize TDMA, SCPC Networks in Africa and Latin America

      XipLink and Vitacom have successfully deployed XipLink XA appliances for various satellite service customers in Africa and Latin America.

      The new optimized services aim to provide higher capacity to Vitacom via SCPS TCP Acceleration plus integrated X1/X2 streaming compression, while also delivering faster refresh rates to the end user community for a better quality-of-experience.
