      Astrium Services Extends Regional Maritime Capacity Lease

      Astrium Services has signed capacity deals with SES to deliver connectivity to vessels around Latin America as well as in the North Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

      Astrium Services will renew capacity on the SES-4 satellite to provide its customers with managed services for maritime business communications, tracking equipment and engine performance as well as ensuring crew at sea to stay connected.

       

      Hispasat Amazonas 3 Prepares for 2013 Launch

      Hispasat’s new Amazonas 3 satellite for Latin America is currently undergoing its final construction phase.

      The satellite is scheduled for an early 2013 launch aboard an Ariane ECA rocket. Amazonas 3 aims to cover the entire American continent, Europe and North America at the 61 degrees West position with 52 transmitters in the Ku-, Ka- and C-bands. The satellite will be one of the first Ka-band satellites to operate in Latin America.
