SES New Skies Signs Asia DTH Deal

      [Satellite Today – 6-16-08] A new Asia wide DTH platform is set to launch using SES New Skies capacity, the satellite operator said June 16. SES New Skies has signed a multi-year agreement with Global Broadcasting and Multimedia Inc. (GBMI) to provide multiple-transponder capacity on the NSS-11 satellite for their new G-Sat direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television service targeting the Asian Region.
          GBMI is a Samoa based multinational corporation run by international professional management groups and is involved in satellite wireless transmissions, satellite Internet and data applications, DTH TV as well as providing ‘head end in the sky’ service for its cable operators.
          GBMI’s G-Sat DTH service currently offers a comprehensive mix of international programs including English, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Japanese and Spanish channels geared to cater to a wide range of viewers.
