By Staff Writer | February 5, 2008

[Satellite Today -2-5-08] ViaSat Inc. reported record quarterly revenues of $152.1 million in its 2008 third quarter, an increase of 22 percent, the company announced Feb. 5.
The government segment recorded revenues of $84.9 million, a 23 percent increase over the third quarter of fiscal year 2007 due to higher sales of government satellite communications and information assurance products. The segment also received contracts awards totaling $54.4 million during the quarter.
Commercial segment revenues were $67.1 million, a 21 percent increase over the same period a year ago. The revenue growth primarily was related to higher sales of consumer broadband products and antenna systems products, partially offset by a decrease in enterprise VSAT products. New contract awards totaled $81.6 million.
