ViaSat Revenues Climb On Government Demand

      [11-02-07 – Satellite Today]  ViaSat Inc. has increased revenue by 11.5 percent  for the second quarter of 2008, the company announced Nov. 1.
          ViaSat reported revenue of $146.6 million for the quarter ending Sept. 28, up from $131.5 in the second quarter of 2007. The company’s government sector increased revenue by 14 percent, to $79.8 million, due mostly to higher government satellite communications and certain information assurance products sales, the company said. New contract awards in the government segment for the second quarter of fiscal year 2008 were $122.3 million.
          In the commercial segment, revenues increased by nine percent to $66.8 million. This growth was related to higher sales of consumer broadband products and Antenna Systems products, the company said. Additionally, ViaSat received $67.2 million in new contract awards.
