Arianespace Postpones Intelsat-11 Launch

By Staff Writer | September 25, 2007

[09-26-07 – Satellite Today] Arianespace has postponed the launch of Intelsat 11 and Optus D2, the company announced Sept. 25. The mission, scheduled for Oct. 2, was delayed at the request of one of the customers so additional checks could be performed on the satellite.

Both satellites were built by Orbital Sciences. Intelsat 11 will provide direct-to-home broadcasting and data networking services to Latin America. Optus D2 satellite will be used for television and communications services to Australia.

A new launch date will be announced shortly, Arianespace said.
