Iridium Posts Traffic Gains, Adds Service Partners In Asia

      [09-20-07 – Satellite Today]  Iridium Satellite has increased maritime traffic in Asia and the South Pacific by 22 percent, land-based traffic by 26 percent, the company announced Sept. 18.

      "Traffic in the Asia-Pacific market has increased by 50 percent over the same period last year,” said Greg Ewert, executive vice president of Iridium, said in a statement.

      Iridium also has added two more service provider partners, signing deals with Monsat LLC, the company’s first service provider in Mongolia, and Kemilinks International, which provides mobile satellite products and services to customers in Singapore and surrounding countries.
