iDirect To Supply System For CrossSat, Unveils DVB-S2 Offering

      iDirect Technologies Inc. will provide a satellite hub and 60 remote satellite routers to CrossSat Telecom Technology Co. Ltd., an independent oil and gas exploration group based in China, iDirect announced July 30.

      The technology will be used to create a global IP network supporting Ku- and C-band communications. CrossSat will use the system to provide satellite connectivity to multiple Chinese oil and gas companies operating n China, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

      The deal is valued at $500,000, iDirect said.

      Separately, iDirect will introduce a DVB-S2 product line with adaptive coding and modulation (ACM) integrated within its system architecture to support the DVB-S2 digital broadcast standard, the company announced July 30.

      The next-generation satellite communications platform will provide customers with bandwidth efficiency improvements and be available in the fourth quarter.
