Inmarsat Announces Service Distribution Partners

Global mobile satellite communications provider Inmarsat has named its first eight service distribution partners to support the launch of its new satellite phone services, the company announced June 15.
Distribution partners ACeS, Chinasat, Evosat, Fono, MCN, MVS, SatCom Global and Stratos will initially offer service to the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Global service is planned by the end of 2008.
Inmarsat’s latest suite of satellite phones, including each a handheld, fixed and maritime model, are expected for availability this summer.
