By JJ McCoy | June 6, 2007

Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems Corp. and General Dynamics C4 Systems have both been awarded multi-million, firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee contract modifications, the U.S. Department of Defense announced June 4. Northrop Grumman’s award is worth $8 million, with General Dynamics’ award being worth more than $6.4 million.

Contracted through Headquarters Space and Missile Systems Center at Los Angeles Air Force Base, the agreements provide for work in the Alternative Infrared Satellite Program Research and Development program, a potential alternative to the Space-Based Infrared System.

The work of each company is due for completion in May 2008.
