SAIC Gains $23.2 Million Missile Defense System Contract

      The Air Force gave Science Applications International Corp., [SAIC], of San Diego a $23.2 million, 31-mnoths cost-plus-award fee contract

      SAILC will investigate and demonstrate, via hardware test and evaluation, the viability of a full-earth sharing sensor assembly to meet threshold missile warning, missile defense objective of the Defense Satellite Program/Space Based Infrared Surveillance (DSP/SBIRS) High Systems.

      This will provide performance data that can be used by the government to assess the risk of this approach for a future alternative infrared satellite system engineering and manufacturing design program.
