Eumetsat Marks Next-Gen Satellite Launch With Contest

By | October 22, 2004 | Uncategorized

Eumetsat will be offering 15- and 16-year-old winners of a forthcoming contest a trip to next year’s launch of Meteosat-9, the next generation of Eumetsat’s geostationary meteorological satellite. This second-generation satellite design will bring more frequent and higher resolution images to European meteorologists, climate researchers and other users.

The competition will involve a series of questions that students — in teams of two, three or four — will have to answer using Internet research. The questions, which will be available in multiple languages, can be found at http://www.eumetsatcom.org when the site goes live Nov. 8.
