ILS Touts Another Successful Launch

      International Launch Services today said the launch of the AMC-15 satellite for SES Americom on board a Russian Proton launch vehicle was successful. The launch took place at 3:23 a.m., local time, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The satellite separated from the Breeze M upper stage at 10:18 a.m.

      AMC-15 is a Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems-built A2100 satellite that carries 12 Ka-band spot beams and 24 Ku-band transponders. It will provide communications services to EchoStar Communications Corp.‘s [DISH] Dish Network direct-to-home satellite television service.
