Foxtel Pursues Pre-Holiday Boost

By Staff Writer | October 12, 2004

Foxtel, the Australian pay-TV operator, is targeting a pre-holiday subscriber boost by offering new and existing customers free installation of its digital service, including those who opt for just the basic offering. However, customers will be required to subscribe for 24 months through a direct-debit plan.

Foxtel says it installs between 12,000 and 15,000 digital connections per week. The operator will support the new offer with a series of “high-energy” television personalities featuring sports stars and other well-known personalities.

Brian Walsh, Foxtel’s director of television and marketing, commented, “The take-up of Foxtel Digital and customer satisfaction is very strong, and we aim to build on that momentum and accelerate sales leading into our strongest season ever for unique programming and major television events.”
