EchoStar Begins Offers Local Channels In 150th U.S. Market

      Englewood, Colo.-based EchoStar Communications Corporation‘s [DISH] DISH Network satellite-television service expanded the number of markets in which it offers local channels to 150 last week when it added Terre Haute, Ind. The company currently provides local channels to more than 93 percent of all U.S. TV households.

      EchoStar, now serving more than 10.1 million satellite TV customers, also expanded its line-up of ethnic programming last week by adding an additional 14 Chinese television channels to create its new “Great Wall TV” package in China. DISH Network subscribers could receive installation and equipment at no cost when signing up for the Great Wall TV Package for the monthly fee of $29.99.
