University Students Prepare Picosat Launch

CapRock Communications is the primary corporate sponsor of a project headed by a team of students at the University of Louisiana that is preparing to send a picosatellite (a small satellite the size of a soccer ball) into orbit. The satellite will launch next month aboard a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile, and it will gather bits of data and transmit it to a ground station on the U of L campus.

All of this is part and parcel of the Cajun Advanced Picosatellite Experiment (CAPE) project, enabling engineering students to research, design, build and launch a satellite.
