SKY Television of New Zealand signed a five-year deal with New Zealand Cricket that gives it exclusive rights to all international and domestic cricket games until 2009.

John Fellet, SKY Television CEO, commented, “I am pleased to continue the partnership between New Zealand Cricket and SKY and thrilled at the prospect of such top-class sporting action. We’re looking forward to bringing some fantastic cricket to all New Zealand fans over the next 5 years.”

SKY Television acquired the assets, including the name, of DVD Unlimited, an online DVD movie-rental business. The business will be relocated to Auckland in October, where SKY will continue to operate and service existing customers irrespective of whether or not they subscribe to SKY’s pay-television services. SKY ultimately plans to operate the most comprehensive DVD library in Australia.
