Hurricanes Won’t Deter SUIRG Meeting

By Staff Writer | September 17, 2004

It’s going to take more than a hurricane to force the cancellation of the Satellite Users Interference Reduction Group‘s (SUIRG) meeting in St. Petersburg Beach, Fla., a spokeswoman for the group told Satellite Today. The show will take place as scheduled at the Don CeSar Beach Resort Sept. 28-30.

On the agenda for the show will be discussions involving defining the RFI problem, interference source identification, interference reduction for small antennas, and U.S. export licenses. Satellite industry executives invited to present at the meeting include James Budden, NewSkies Satellite vice president of operations; Robert Bell, executive director of the World Teleport Association; International Satellite Operators Group Chairman Richard Tauber (who also is the vice president of transmission systems and new technology at CNN); and Dasappa Ravindranath of the Indian Space Research Organization.

Registration information for the meeting can be found at http://www.suirg.com.
