DirecTV Alleges Piracy In Suit Against Utah Couple

      The DirecTV Group [DTV] has prosecuted bars and individuals for stealing its satellite TV signals, and it now it is pursuing legal action against a married couple.

      The Utah couple is accused of conducting a fraudulent scheme to obtain DirecTV programming for other consumers, according to a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in the Central Division of Utah. Troy and Marci Sample of Draper, Utah, are being accused of creating false subscription accounts and activating multiple access cards and receivers for at least 32 individuals. The couple then received payment from the users, DirecTV said.
