Wanted: New SES Americom CEO

By Staff Writer | September 10, 2004

Hands-on SES Americom President and CEO Dean Olmstead left the company this week, and a search is underway to find his replacement.

His departure is not expected to curb the company’s drive to tap the emerging market opportunities. Those initiatives include providing high-definition television services through two dedicated in-orbit HD satellites and rolling out the direct-to-consumer service called Americom2Home.

Olmstead, who previously worked as a consultant to SES Global’s CEO and Chairman Romain Bausch prior to joining SES Americom as its top officer, will be replaced on an interim basis by Bausch and members of SES Americom’s management committee.
