By Staff Writer | September 7, 2004

New York City-based Sirius Satellite Radio [SIRI], one of two U.S.-based satellite radio services, passed the 600,000-subscriber mark this past Labor Day Weekend, and it remains on target to achieve its goal of reaching a million subscribers by year’s end.

During the three-day holiday, the carrier debuted its play-by-play coverage of college football from 23 major universities nationwide. Later this week, Sirius will introduce its “NFL Sunday Drive” programming package that will allow subscribers across the country to hear every NFL game each week.
