USDA Goes With DigitalGlobe Imaging

DigitalGlobe was awarded a contract from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to update the agency’s ortho-imagery base program. Under the contract, DigitalGlobe said it will provide 2-foot resolution, ortho-rectified, 1:12,000 Digital Ortho Quadrangles from using QuickBird imagery. The images were collected while the satellite was over two sites in Alaska that cover about 2,167 square miles. Financial terms were not disclosed.
