NRO Satellite Launch Details Revealed

International Launch Services (ILS) today revealed the details of the launch of a satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The satellite, which will be used for national security activities, will be launched from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on a Lockheed Martin Space Systems-built Atlas IIAS launch vehicle. The launch is scheduled for Aug. 27 at 7:06 p.m. EST, and the satellite is scheduled to separate from the launch vehicle approximately 73 minutes after liftoff. This liftoff represents the 30^th and final mission for the Atlas II series of launch vehicles.
