Precisa Taps Sarantel For GPS Antennas

By Staff Writer | August 24, 2004

U.K.-based miniature-antenna manufacturer Sarantel today was chosen by Precisa to supply the GeoHelix GPS antenna for its Secufone, a GSM mobile phone with a personal alarm and service button that targets those in the healthcare professions.

The integration of GPS functionality into a wireless phone, which will be manufactured in Switzerland, reportedly will be the key to realizing the benefits of location-based services, whether to find the nearest Italian restaurant or, in the case of Precisa, to obtain location information in case of an emergency.
