According to International Launch Services (ILS), the launch window for the Amazonas satellite launch opens this evening at 6:32 p.m., EDT, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Barring any weather or other such delays, the EADS Astrium-built Amazonas satellite will be delivered to orbit on a Proton M/Breeze M launch vehicle. The satellite will be used for various communications services for Hispamar, the Brazilian subsidiary of Hispasat of Spain.

This launch represents the seventh mission for ILS this year.
